Reviews
The tortillas here are immaculate. Truly no better handmade flour tortilla could exist in east side Los Angeles that could compare. Just wow. Be mindful when visiting, because of the quality and reputation this place has, you should expect to wait in line. Obviously those random weekday hours are a little slower- but I've never seen this place empty. It is so so so good and I love coming here for breakfast and for a good lunch chicken burrito. Thanks La Azteca for your consistency and authenticity in your cuisine! Love it here.
The Azteca (Chile relleno) burrito here is sooo delicious!! From the fresh handmade tortilla, to the poblano pepper, the melted cheese, and the flavor of the carne asada, 10/10 burrito in terms of flavor. I haven't ordered anything else on the menu because i'm literally hooked on the chile relleno burrito every time I go. Haven't found a better one any where else. This place does get crowded on the weekends and during lunch hour so be prepared for a little wait.
Takes credit card. Add $1 for credit card transactions. La Azteca burrito ($14.25)- the most famous item they have. Add any meat they offer. Tortilla is nice and chewy, you can tell it's home made. The chille relleano with cheese is a poblano pepper makes this so unique. The pepper adds a nice chewiness. Unfortunately my pepper was a little undercooked and hard to bite through, I'd prefer it cooked more. Chicharroon- it's a great idea, and adds e texture to each bite but the chicharroon was too hard kind of like it was overcooked. Next time I'd get the carnitas meat. Breakfast burrito ($12.50)- asada meat. The meat was so tasty, cooked well, still soft. Tortilla grilled. This was way better than the. la Azteca burrito. This alone is worth the 5 stat rating. Prices have gone up probably because cost of eggs went up. Overall prices are pretty steep for what they offer.
Went here with my friends after class after we were craving burritos. I ordered the al pastor burrito without the refried beans, since I'm not really a big fan of refried beans. Upon tasting the burrito, I've got to say, this was the best burrito I've ever tasted. Hands down, the meat was so tender and flavorful and the sauce had a good kick to it. Definitely will be coming back in the future for more!
I've been to La Azteca a few times. The burritos are good, yet a bit overpriced. It's strange how tight they are with the salsa. They give you one salsa with your burrito and it isn't even enough. They charge for any additional salsas. CHILE RELLENO BURRITO The balance is great with the flavors and ingredients. The tortilla is good too. The asada flavor is good but the meat quality can definitely be improved. RESTAURANT This spot is small. There are a few counter tops that you can eat at. SERVICE Good. Order at the counter and wait for your order. PARKING Limited street parking.
